Introduction

Virtualization is the process of creating virtualization components between hardware components and the user. Even though the present computers have a good storage system, fast RAM, and a good CPU speed they were used under a particular utilization, and due to that it affects high electricity consumption.

In virtualization, it is possible to separate the Operating System with its applications and settings from its hardware part and transfer that to another hardware part through servers. This is possible to do with Virtualization Softwares

We can divide Virtualization software into two types

  1. The client installed Virtual Software
  2. Hypervisor Software

The client installed Virtual Software

In a PC or any Hardware system, it is possible to install any Operating System like MAC, Windows, Linux, etc. On top of that Operating System, Client installed Virtual Software can be installed. Using this it is possible to install another Operating System inside that virtual software and this allows us to use another Operating System inside our own Operating System. Through this, we can create our own virtual environments

Example: Through this client installed virtual software we can use Linux Operating System inside Windows Operating System.

Hypervisor

The hypervisor is powerful than client installed virtual system. To use hypervisor we have to use two software.

  1. One is the Hypervisor
  2. Next is the Management Software

The hypervisor is a kind of Operating System that is installed hardware component of virtual computers (Here instead of installing Windows, MAC, Linux we have to install the hypervisor). Even though we install the hypervisor to the virtual computer we cannot manage our virtual computer as we need.

In order to manage the virtual computer, we have to install the Management Software to the Computer that administrates the virtual computer. When we install the hypervisor to a hardware component of virtual server and management software to another computer, management software can connect the hypervisor through the network and it allows the administrative computer to use the virtual environment of the virtual server

ESXI hypervisor

ESXI hypervisor is the hypervisor that runs on the VMware that creates computing products. Here we install the ESXi into the hardware component that runs the virtual environment. The management software of the VMware which connects with the ESXi hypervisor in vSphere
